The Silver Heights Restaurant opened it's door at 2169 Portage avenue, in St. James in June of 1956. My father Mr. Anthony Siwicki had no idea the restaurant would still be going strong 50 years later. His idea of running a fine restaurant was to provide his guests with quick, friendly service and to serve delicious quality food at a reasonable prices and most of all to keep it that way. I hope to keep up the family tradition for quite some time to come.

Originally opened by former truck driver-cabbie Tony Siwicki and three partners in 1957, Silver Heights was slowly transformed from a coffee shop into a lounge-dining room-bar. The neighboring clothing store became the bar. The adjoining hardware store on the other side became the dining room.
In the popular lounge you can have a few drinks while relaxing with friends, playing the
VLT's, using the billiards table, or enjoying the live entertainment and dancing featured every Saturday night. You can snack in
the functional middle room, a no frills restaurant offering burgers and sandwiches. Or you can have a dining experience in the well-appointed dining room.
All menus feature the house specialty of Bar-B-Q'd Spareribs -- tender succulent Baby Ribs and Chicken or Jumbo Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo. When you think you have almost decided, there is still the list of Burgers. From a regular hamburger or hotdog to specials like the Fatso King, Mexican Bull or the Double Deluxe Cheese Dog.
The dinner menu features not only their trademark Ribs, but also Roast Prime Rib of Beef, a selection of steaks, seafood, stir fries and pasta.
Lemon or Dijon Chicken, Veal Parmesan, cut to order New York Steaks, Giant Cuban Lobster Tails or Traditional Fish & Chips.
There is also a plentiful Children's Menu and a well selected Take Out Menu.
The Saturday afternoon Beef and Bone Buffet features Cajun chicken wings, beef ribs, steak
fries, perogies and lots of breads and salads. Oops! Forgot to mention the carved baron of beef!
